The Igloo White Program was set up to develop technology to create a sensor*
"Wall" through Vietnam and central Laos in order to spot and help*
curb North Vietnamese infiltration, or at least assist in the direction of*
strike assets against it. While the actual operations in Laos and Vietnam*
were given specific names, Igloo White is the name by which the program is*
most remembered*

This formation represents the period between late 1967 and the middle of 1968*
when the US Navy conducted these operations in Laos. Air elements dropped*
Air-Dropped Seismic Intrusion Detectors (ADSIDs), which encompassed*
a number of different types of sensors, designed to detect ground traffic.*
Depending on the "target" area, the aircraft dropped a varying number of*
sensors per mission.*
